작가노트
나의 작업은 자연에서 얻는 휴식과 위로 그리고 기쁨 그 자체로 부터 시작된다.
학창 시절 다양한 표현 방법을 연구하던 나의 초기 작품부터 자연과의 감성적 교감을 표현하려 했다.
그런 ‘감성’은 우리 삶에 질적인 측면에서는 아주 중요한 부분이며, 나아가 신체적 건강과 행복에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 부정할 이는 없을 것이다. 이러한 자연으로부터 모든 스트레스와 걱정을 해소하고 평온함을 얻는 것이 나에게는 아주 감사하고 의미 있는 일이기 때문에 작품 속에 그 감성을 담아내는데 집중 하고 있다.
초기 작업에서 그런 감성을 담은 자연의 모습 담아내려고 추상적인 형태와 은유적인 드로잉 기법을 다양한 혼합재료 표현하였고 이후 자연의 참된 감성만을 필터링하기 위해 재료와 표현 방법도 범위를 좁혀가기 시작했다. 혼합재료에서 아크릴과 유화만을 사용하고 추상적인 표현에서 사실적인 모습 즉 토코투칸(자연을 품은 듯한 큰 부리를 가진 새)와 꽃, 코끼리(다른 동물 위에 군림하지 않고 자연을 거스르지 않는), 해바라기(누구에게나 포용력을 지닌 자연의 대표로 인식되는) 그리고 그 모든 것을 품은 듯한 하나의 산 그리고 그 모든 것이 있을 것 같은 섬으로 바꾸어 나갔다.
최근 나의 작업은 마치 사막에서 오아시스를 찾은 것과 같은 감성을 담고 있어서 바다 한 가운데 있는 다양하고 평화로운 ‘섬’을 주제로 그리고 있다.
자연이 들려 주는 규칙적이면서도 불규칙한 리듬과 일치하는 파도의 무브먼트, 바람의 크고 작은 속삭임, 시간이 어느 시점에서 서서히 멈춘 듯한 고요함과 안정감까지 담고 있는 섬을 마치 엄마의 품에 안긴 아기처럼 바다의 품에 안겨 있는 작은 섬으로 표현하는데 집중하고 있다.
해와 달이 번갈아 빛나고 푸른 하늘과 바다의 넓은 품이 만나는 곳, 새들이 노래를 부르는 숲을 이루는 이 곳에서 나는 진정한 평화를 찾아가고 자연과 하나가 되는 순간을 느낀다.
섬 위에 우거진 자연은 자신만의 고요한 언어로 나를 안심시킨다. 파도의 소리, 바람의 속삭임, 새의 지저귐은 모두 하나로 어우러져 또 다른 자연을 이룬다.
해안을 따라 산책하면 잔잔하게 부서지는 파도가 내 발을 간지럽히고 화려한 태양이 뜨고 일몰이 질 때마다 마치 하늘과 바다가 사랑에 빠진 듯한 아름다움을 선물한다.
하늘을 가득 채운 별들과 달은 바다 위에 빛나는 길을 비춰주고 마치 시적인 꿈 속에서 나타난 것처럼 아름답지 않은가.
이 평온한 섬은 도시의 소란과 스트레스에서 벗어나고 싶을 때 언제나 내게로 오라고 속삭인다. 여기서 나는 그 동안 찾아왔던 안정감과 평화로움을 얻을 수 있고 이 섬에서 다시 세상으로 나올 때, 나는 더 큰 평온으로 생성되는 강인한 인내를 갖고 돌아 올 수 있다.
섬은 나의 마음의 안식처, 평화와 행복이 가득한 곳이다.

Artist Statement
My artwork finds its origin in the rest, solace, and pure joy derived from nature. It all began with my early works during my school days, where I explored various means of artistic expression, always intending to convey an emotional communion with nature.
This "emotional" connection holds significant importance in our lives, influencing our overall well-being and physical health. Being profoundly grateful for the ability to alleviate all stress and worries, and finding serenity in nature, I've devoted my artistic focus to encapsulating these emotions within my works.
In my beginning artworks, I endeavored to encapsulate this sentiment from nature through abstract forms and metaphorical drawing techniques using various mixed materials. As time progressed, I started filtering only the genuine emotions of nature, narrowing down the materials and methods. I now solely employ acrylic and oil paints from the mixed materials, depicting realistic elements such as the Toco Toucan (a bird resembling nature with its prominent beak), flowers, elephants (not dominate other animals and adapt to nature), sunflowers (symbolizing nature's inclusivity to all), and an island that seems to embrace everything.
My recent artworks carry an emotional resonance akin to discovering an oasis in the desert. I'm currently focused on portraying a diverse and tranquil "island" situated in the midst of the sea. This island encapsulates the rhythmic and irregular movements of the waves, harmonizing with nature's symphony. It captures the subtle whispers of the wind, the moments when time stands still, exuding tranquility and stability as if cradled in a mother's embrace.
This is a place where the sea meets the vast expanse of the blue sky, where the alternating radiance of the sun and moon unite, and where birds compose melodies in the forest. Here, I find true peace and experience moments of oneness with nature.
The nature-enveloped island reassures me with its own language of tranquility. The sound of the waves, the whispers of the wind, and the birds' melodies all unite to form a new aspect of nature.
Strolling along the coast, the gently breaking waves tickle my feet, and the resplendent sun rises and sets, bestowing beauty as if the sky and sea are deeply in love each time. The stars and the moon, filling the sky, illuminate a path on the sea, appearing as if from a poetic dream.
This peaceful island continually whispers for me to come whenever I wish to escape the chaos and stress of the city. Here, I can find the serenity and peace I have always sought. When I return to the world from this island, I return with greater inner strength, created through enduring patience, immersed in profound tranquility.
This island is my resting place of the heart, a place filled with peace and happiness.
