2023 “What Defines Myself” 나는 무엇으로 단정지을 수 있는가

 

 

[작가노트]

 

인간은 "사람"이라는 형상만으로 무엇 이라고 정의 내릴 수 없다.

 

우리는 지각하고, 경험하고, 행동하고, 생각하고, 느끼는 삶의 내용물을 통해

자신이 누구인가를 규정한다.

하지만 우리의 육체와 정신은 변화된다.

몸은 어린아이였다가 어른으로, 병들었다가 나은 몸으로

끊임없이 변화하고 머물렀던 생각은 떠나간다.

 

반면

 

절대로 흔들림 없고 변하지 않는 것이 있다.

그것은 우리 모두의 내면 안에 있다.

명확하게 설명할 수 없는 그것은

어제의 기억에도 내일의 계획에도 없는 지금

현재에만 있다는 것이다.

정형화된 형상이 아닌 그것은 우리의 본질이다.

그 내면의 본질이 발견되고 외부로 표현 됐을 때

사람이라는 형상을 초월한다.

[Artist Statement]

 

People can hardly be defined by their visual appearance of material body.

 

We are being formulated by the content through the life driven

by own perception, experience, behavior, sense

and the our body and soul

which seems to be an sole identity cumulated

from such formulation never cease its alteration and evolution.

 

However,

 

there are a ‘it’ which resides inside of each of us

as an absolute solidity and permanent fixation

in the state of indescribable being.

‘It’ only exists in the present time,

not in either the memory of the past or the prospective of tomorrow..

Unstructured, unregulated ‘IT’ is our true nature.

When we discover our true nature and

when it is presented to the outer space,

it finally exceed the humanness as a material body.
