작가노트
나의 작업은 기억된 관계로부터 출발하여 시간의 변화에 순응하고 남아있는 사소한 작은 흔적에 접근한다. 거기에는 정서적 유대관계에 집중한다.
나는 시간에 침식된 주변 사물들에 마음이 끌리곤 한다.
헐거워지고 변형된 주름과 택배상자의 뜯김과 봉합의 흔적 그리고 낡은 신문지의 비틀리고 구겨진 형태와 활자 또 담벼락의 오래된 세월의 침식 등 에서 애잔한 그리움이 생긴다.
이러한 시간의 흔적은 내 작업의 모티브가 된다.
시간의 변화과정에는 기억이 하나둘 쌓이고 싸여 오래된 퇴적물의 표면처럼 기록되어진다. 그것은 때때로 소리로 활자로 혹은 변형된 형상으로 우리 곁에 남아있는 것을 발견한다.
나의 작업은 시간에 묻힌 기억의 단편들을 다시 재현하는 것이 아니고 남아있는 기억의 흔적을 오늘의 시간에 연결해 다시 재해석하는 것이다.
시간의 물리적 작용에 의한 기억들은 시간의 반복적인 변화의 순환으로 나의 감정을 순환하는 작용되기도 한다. 또 현제와 과거의 균형을 조율하는 방법이기도하다.
여기저기 구석에서 어제와 오늘을 연결하는 유기적인 작은 움직임에 나는 집중하고 그것을 결합하고 밀착시켜 존재들의 관계를 연결하는 작업을 한다.
기억의 모순적인 변형을 현제의 상호적 관점에서 생각하고 회화의 순수적인 방법들을 찾아가며 탐색한다.

Artist Statement
My work starts from a remembered relationship, conforms to changes in time, and approaches minor traces remaining. There is a particular focus on emotional ties. I'm often attracted to things around me that have been eroded by time. When I look at these (such as loose and deformed wrinkles, torn and sealed delivery boxes, twisted and crumpled old newspapers, and erosion of old walls), I feel the longing of the past. These traces of time are the motif of my work.In the process of time change, memories are accumulated and wrapped one by one and recorded as the surface of old sediment. It sometimes finds it remaining by sound in type or in a transformed shape. My work is not to recreate the fragments of memory buried in time, but to reinterpret the traces of remaining memory again at today's time. Memories caused by the physical action of time are sometimes circulating my emotions through the cycle of repetitive changes in time. It is also a way to balance the present and the past. I focus on the organic little movement that connects yesterday and today here and there. It works to connect the relationship between beings by closely connecting the bonds of time. Think about the contradictory transformation of memory from the mutual perspective of the present and seek pure ways of painting.
