작가노트

​

나는 어디로 가야 할까? 나는 앞으로 무엇을 향해 나아가야 할까? 라고 질문하며 작업합니다. 
우리는 대부분 정해진 삶 속에 안주하고 틀 안에 갇혀 지내는 것이 더 편하고 익숙합니다. 그러나 한편으로는 그 삶을 답답해하고 지루해 하기도 합니다. 이러한 이중적인 면을 바라보았을 때 저는 끊임없이 도전하고 어떠한 상황에도 변화를 두려워하지 않는 사람이 되기 위해 노력합니다. 특히 온 세상에 정체가 오랫동안 지속되면서 쳇바퀴 돌 듯 반복되는 삶에 더욱 침체되거나 방황하는 사람들이 많아졌습니다. 
그러나 인간은 살아가면서 다양한 경험과 느낌을 통해 변하기도 합니다. 제 그림을 통해 목적 없는 삶을 살고 있는 이들의 무뎌진 감각이 되살아날 수 있는 계기가 되었으면 하는 바램입니다. 
어디로 가야 할 지 모르는 막연하고 불안한 여정이 아닌 기대와 설렘으로 가득한 여정을 알록달록한 색감으로 담아내고 있습니다. 바다 속에서 더 나아가 현실과 가상 그 중간 어디쯤 모호한 공간을 넘나들며 화면 구석구석 섬세하게 표현한 볼거리를 구경하는 재미를 더합니다. 바다 속 물고기들과 형형색색의 산호초들의 몽환적이고 환상적인 세계를 함께 경험해보면 어떨까요?

 

Artist Statement

Where should I go? What should I be heading for in the future? I’m working by asking myself the question. Most of us are more comfortable and accustomed to being settled in a fixed life and trapped in a frame. But on the one hand, it can make life frustrating and boring. Looking at these dual aspects, I constantly challenge myself and strive to become a person who is not afraid of change in any situation. In particular, there are many people who become more stagnant or wandering in the repetitive life of the whole world as the situation continues for a long time. However, humans also change through various experiences and feelings as they live. I hope that my paintings will be an opportunity to revive the dull sensations of those who are living purposeless lives. 
It is not a vague and anxious journey of not knowing where to go, but a journey full of expectations and excitement with colorful colors. Going further from the situation in the sea, it adds fun to seeing the sights expressed in detail on every corner of the screen, crossing an ambiguous space somewhere between reality and virtual reality. How about exploring the dreamy and fantastic world of underwater fish and colorful coral reefs?
