작업노트 

​

외로움과 우울에 대한 경험으로부터 출발한 나의 작업은 한가지 중심적인 생각을 가지고 있다.

외로움과 우울은 소소한 인간관계 속에서 느끼는 그것 이상으로, 필연적인 것이다.

즉 인간은 각자의 세계 속에서 살아가며 타인의 세계와는 겹쳐질 수 없다는 것이다.

타인에게 공감하려 해도 창문 바깥으로만 바라볼 수 있을 뿐, 타인의 세계로 들어갈 수는 없다. 
끔찍이도 평온한 자신만의 방에서 우리는 끝없는 외로움을 만나고, ‘인생은 결국 혼자’가 된다.

하지만 그 방에서 우리는 암묵적인 외로움의 형태를 서서히 바라볼 수 있게 된다. 외로움에 대한 공감은 그러한 바라봄으로부터 출발한다.

Artist Statement​

​

My work, which started from my experience of loneliness and depression, has one core idea. Loneliness and depression are more than feeling in a small relationship. It is innate. In the other words, People live in their own world, and it cannot overlap with the world of others. Even if you try to empathize with another person, you can only look outside through the window, and you cannot enter the world of others. 
In own horribly tranquil room, we meet infinite loneliness. It ends up with the words "Life is alone anyhow." at last.
But we can slowly getting to look at the shape of own tacit loneliness. Sympathy for loneliness begins with that gaze.
