작업노트 

​

나는 선과 색면으로 도시 내면을 표현하는 작업을 하고 있다.
현대 도시의 급속화된 성장과 문명의 발달은 현대인들에게 유용한 공간과 생산적인 환경을 가져다주었지만 기계화되고 획일화된 도시로 변하는 것을 피하지는 못했다. 
자연적인 모습이 옛 특색을 잃고 빠르게 도시화가 진행되는 모습이 나에겐 낯설고 삭막한 풍경으로 다가왔다. 주변의 자연은 친화적 관계를 상실하고 도시 속에서 소외되어 고립된 존재로 남아 있게 되었으며 현재도 점점 그 자리를 잃어가고 있다. 
고독과 불안의 요소를 지닌 도시는 부정적인 면이 있지만, 인간의 편리를 위해 만들어진 공간이고 우리가 생존하는 장소이다. 이렇듯 나는 도시를 통해 긍정과 부정의 감정을 느끼고 이를 토대로 화면 안에
도시의 특성과 내면을 선과 면, 색으로 시각화하여 본인의 심리를 반영하고 있다.
도시를 조형적으로 재구성하는 작업이 관객으로 하여금 도시 속에서 살아가는 현대인의 위축된 심리를 위로하고 복잡하지 않은 밝은 풍경으로 변화할 수 있음을 보여주고자 한다. 도시에 세워진 건물들의 차가운 공간이나 딱딱한 시각적 외형만이 아닌 다양한 내면의 모습을 생각하고 공감할 수 있었으면 좋겠다.

나는 선과 색면을 이용하여 도시 내면을 화면에 연출한다.
작업은 긍정과 부정의 이중적 의미를 지닌 도시에 본인의 주관적인 해석을 내면화시켜 조형적 방법으로 표현해 상실된 인간성 회복의 계기를 만드는 것이었다. 
현대 사회를 보여주는 주요 매개체가 도시에 있는 건물이라고 생각했고 건축물에서 발견한 기하학적 구조를 작업으로 나타내었다. 건축물의 구조에서 주요 모티브를 차용했지만 최소한의 형태는 그대로 두어 균형은 유지했고 단순화시킨 선과 면, 기하학 형상들은 순수한 구조로서 도시의 내면의 본질을 지켜주고자 했다.
또 다른 표현인 강한 색감으로 단면화하여 채색함으로써 건물이 도식화되어 본인의 조형적 요소로 뒤바뀐다. 이를 통해 본인의 작품은 본인과 현대인들이 도시 속에서 받은 불안감과 외로움을 치유해주고 극복하는 역할이 되기를 기대한다.

Artist Statement

​

I'm working on expressing the inner side of the city in lines and colors.
The rapid growth of modern cities and the development of civilization have brought useful space and productive environment to modern people, but they have not avoided turning into mechanized and uniformed cities.
The sight of nature losing its old features and rapid urbanization came as a strange and stark landscape for me. The surrounding nature has lost its affinity and remained isolated in the city, and is losing its place now.
A city with elements of solitude and anxiety has a negative side, but it is a space created for human convenience and a place where we survive. Like this, I feel positive and negative emotions through the city, and based on them, I feel like I'm on the screen.
The characteristics of the city and its interior are visualized in lines, sides, and colors to reflect one's own psychology.
I want to show the audience that the work of reconstructing the city in a formative way can comfort the shrinking psychology of modern people living in the city and transform it into a bright, uncomplicated landscape. I wish I could think about and sympathize with the various inner aspects of buildings built in the city, not just the cold space or the hard visual appearance.

I use lines and color planes to create the inner part of the city on screen.
The work was to internalize one's subjective interpretation and express it in a formative way to create an opportunity to restore lost humanity in a city with double meanings of positivity and negation.
The main medium of modern society was thought to be buildings in the city, and the geometric structures found in the buildings were represented by work. The main motif was borrowed from the structure of the building, but the minimal form remained the same, maintaining the balance, and the simplified lines, sides and geometric shapes were intended to protect the inner nature of the city as a pure structure.
Another expression, the building is schematized and replaced with its own formative elements by cross-sectional painting with a strong color. Through this, I hope that his work will heal and overcome the anxiety and loneliness that he and modern people have received in the city.
