작가노트 

​

사람들은 세상의 불편한 진실을 외면하며 
자신들의 욕망을 위해 진심어린 치장을 한다.

물질만능주의 사회를 살아가고 있는 우리들에게 
도덕적 순수함을 바라고 강요하는 건, 
시대의 흐름에 반하며 도태되고 나약해지는 것과 같다.

나의 작업은 이런 이분법적인 발상에서부터 시작한다.

화려하게 살고 싶은 인간의 본능과 허황된 심리, 
그로인하여 야기되는 사회적 문제들을 
다소 비판적이고 냉소적인 이야기로 주제를 삼고 있지만,
직접적인 표현 보다는 꽃과 나비, 보석 등 화려한 색을 가진 소재들을 채택하여 
허구적이고 반어적인 느낌으로 작업을 진행 한다

Artist Statement​

​

People disregard(or face away) the inconvenient truths 
and decorate heartfeltly for their desires.

It is like being weak and being weeded out by going against the trend
to impose the moral purity for us who are living in the age of materialism.

My works begin from this dichotomous way of thinking.

Even though the themes of my works are mainly critical and cynical stories, to express the basic human instinct and the frothy mentality to have fancy lives, 
I choose the materials in showy colors such as flowers, butterflies, and jewels to show the ironical feeling.
