작가노트

​

인간의 존재에 대한 사유(思惟)는 유한한 인생에서의 가치있는 삶을 살고자 하는 꿈에서 시작되지만, 미래 불확실성에 따른 불안과 죽음에 대한 두려움 등 다양한 요인들이 더해져, 영원하고 싶은 잠재적 욕망이 인간의 무의식을 자극하고, 영원함에 대한 절대적인 가치를 지닌 존재에 감정적으로 이입(移入)하게 된다. 

​

오랜세월에도 아름답고 경외로움을 간직하고 있는 고성(古城)은 굳건히 버티고 있는 존재의 화려함 뒤에 공허함과 고독이 스며들어 있고, 텅비어 있는 창과 문, 길고 어둡게 드리워진 그림자에는 과거의 아픔에 대한 기억이 묻혀 있는 듯, 흡사 인간의 인생과도 같다.

​

절대적 존재로서 고성의 형상화는 내면에 잠재된 무의식의 표현으로 표출하게 되면서, 세월이라는 시간성에도 변함이 없는 영원함과 연속성으로 다가온다. 수백년의 시간성을 가진 고성의 이야기가 영원히 남고 싶은 인간의 염원을 떠올리게 하고, 자신의 존재가치를 찾아 헤매는 인간의 잠재의식을 자극하여 미래의 성찰로 이끌어 줄 것을 기대한다.

​

과거의 반복되는 일상을 무심하게 들려주는 듯한 수많은 기와와 막새, 서까래, 벽돌들은 위대한 존재로 한순간의 이미지로 퇴색되어지는 것이 아니라 변하지 않는 영원의 시작으로 기억되었으면 한다. 지금이라는 시간성을 가장 짧게 표현하는 “찰나의 기억”으로, 고성의 이미지가 영원이라는 시간성을 담아내기를 희망한다.

Artist Statement

​

The thought of human being begins with a dream to live a valuable  existence in a finite life. adds various factors, including anxiety and fear of death due to uncertainty future, so that the potential desire to live forever stimulates human unconsciousness and emotionally transfered in beings with absolute value for eternity. 

​

The ancient castle which retains a beautiful and reverential spirit for a long time, is imbued with emptiness and solitude behind the splendor of its existence. it’s seems like past memories of pain are buried at empty windows, doors, and long dark shadows. As if human life...

​

Imaging of the ancient castle as an absolute existence is expressed as subconsciousness, it cames with perpetuity and continuity that remains unchanged in time. The story of ancient castle with hundreds of years of time will reminds me of a human desire to remain forever. And It is expected to stimulate the subconscious mind of human beings who search for their own existence and lead them to reflect on the future.

The numerous roof tiles, convex tiles, rafters and bricks that seem to tell the recurring daily lives of the past will not be tarnished by a moment's image as a great being, but will be remembered as the beginning of an unchanging eternity. I hope the image of my painting captures time of eternity by “Memory of moment” -the shortest expression of time-.
